AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Conversation 1
Mikey: Vancouver is the capital of Canada!
Rose: No, it’s not, it’s Montreal! Let’s check… Alexa, what’s the capital of Canada?
Alexa (automated voice): The capital of Canada is Ottawa.
Mikey: Oh, we’re both wrong then!

Conversation 2
Caleb: …and then I said ‘What do you mean?’
Anna: And what did he say?
Caleb: He just… (low battery beep) …oh, wait a minute, my phone battery is low. Let me plug it in… (plugged in beep) There! So…

Conversation 3
Patricia: That looks nice!
Mark: Yeah, I got it for my birthday. I run with it and it tells me how many miles I’ve done, and how my heart is, that type of thing.

Conversation 4
Courtney: When I travel, half of my luggage is books!
Adam: So you need one of these. I have about 250 eBooks on this thing. It’s very light and easy to carry.
Courtney: No, thanks. Not for me. I still prefer to read a real book, you know?

Conversation 5
Ian: The problem with this one is that it’s very old. I can’t see the letters when I’m typing.
Molly: You should get a new one then. They’re very cheap.

Conversation 6
Daniel: This one is a bit more expensive, but it can go up to 300 feet in the sky, and it has a camera, so you can take great photos with it.
Margaret: OK. I’ll take that one then.

Conversation 7
Bob: Excuse me. I need to print a document I wrote on that computer. Is that possible?
Angela: Yes. You just have to click print, and it comes out here at the desk. It’s 50 cents per page.

Conversation 8
Mia: Do you want to borrow my laptop?
Peter: No, I need something smaller. It’s just for little Joey to watch his videos in the car, so this will be perfect.
