AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Audio 1 (Activity 3)
Conversation A
A: I’m really hungry. I’m sure we can find something to eat here.
B: There’s a pizza restaurant in front of us. You know, I had the best pizza when I visited Italy. Do you like Italian food?
A: Yes, I do, but that pizza restaurant isn’t open yet. I can see a sushi place over there. I like Japanese food.
B: So do I. I really want to go to Japan one day. But look at the prices! It’s very expensive.
A: OK. How about this one: UK’s Finest Fish and Chips.
B: Perfect. A British classic.
Conversation B
C: There are so many places to choose from here! Let me think ... I really feel like a nice curry today. Let’s go to this one: A Taste of India.
D: I’m sorry, but I don’t like Indian food. It’s too spicy for me. I’d prefer to get some crepes at the French place next door.
C: That won’t work for me – I can’t eat cheese. It was a big problem for me when I went to France last year.
D: But you know, we don’t have to get our food at the same place. Let’s just get what we want and eat together at the tables in the middle.
Conversation C
E: Okay, we’ve got to get something to eat quickly before our train leaves. I heard there was a great Spanish place here, where they make paella just like they do in Spain.
F: That sounds good, but it looks really busy in there. It will take too long. Let’s just get burgers. Fast food – the American way!
E: OK, I can see a place called United States Plates. And it’s not too busy either.
F: I hope they have onion rings!
