In this lesson, students develop their conversational skills by practicing how to ask about items in a store. First, they learn a set of subject-related vocabulary and answer questions to personalize the topic. They then identify different types of stores and what they sell before practicing the language in a variety of student-centered tasks. They then develop their listening skills by hearing four conversations in different stores and completing the comprehension tasks. The students then notice and highlight the functional language used in a store context. They then practice the language in a variety of interactive activities and finish the lesson by taking part in a group roleplay task. There is a final game to review the language. Oliver: Here’s your change.
