In this updated lesson, students develop their vocabulary and skills in the context of furniture and appliances in the home. They start the lesson by discussing some questions to engage with the topic and reviewing different house rooms. They then identify pieces of furniture and appliances and practice the language in various activities. They develop their receptive skills by listening to two house descriptions. After completing comprehension tasks, they notice and practice the language used. There is a final speaking activity to consolidate the language from the lesson and a word puzzle to review the vocabulary. (by Victoria Aitken)

Rental agent: The second one is a basement apartment. It has a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, one bedroom, one bathroom, and a small garden.
Brian: Is it furnished?
Rental agent: Yes. There are two armchairs and a coffee table in the living room. There is a bed, a closet, and some shelves in the bedroom. There is a table in the dining room, but there aren’t any chairs.
Brian: Are there any appliances?
