AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Manager: Good morning, everyone. Thanks for coming. I’ve gathered you all to go over the results of the stress risk assessment I’ve now completed. There are a few key areas I want to go over. Firstly, I’ve noticed that we’ve got into the habit of leaving delivery items next to the fire escape doors. I know why this happens, but it needs to change. In an emergency, it could literally kill someone. So as of now, all deliveries are going to be taken through to reception. Hassan and Linda will email anyone about large parcels that arrive, then they are responsible for collection. Those doors must always be clear. Hassan and Linda are going to let the delivery companies know about the policy and they’ll check deliveries by 10 am each morning.
Linda: It will help us a lot if everyone can check deliveries regularly or we’ll run out of space quite quickly.
Manager: Yes, we’ll see how this works and have a look at it again on October 15th. If it isn’t working, we’ll have another thing. But I expect this to be an ongoing practice.
Manager: Secondly, I’m worried about your backs and I want to check the suitability of your desks. This applies to everyone in the office and everyone in the warehouse who spends time recording deliveries, which is most of you at some point. We’ll have a contractor to come and look at this. The company is also going to issue reimbursement for eye tests. I know a lot of you wear glasses and you need to make sure they’re working. Eye strain can be a real problem when you’re at your desk all day. Hassan and Linda - sorry, more work for you, are going to arrange for the contractor and HR will be emailing everyone to inform you of the procedure for getting your money back. Nathan, I see you have a question?
Nathan: Yes, I’d appreciate it if you could recommend a good place to go to get your eyes looked at. I’m quite new to the area, so any help will be good.
Manager: Yes, I’m sure we can include those details in the email which you’ll get before July 25th. Next, I’ve been looking at support for all staff. Even me!
Manager: We all know it can be busy here, so we’re going to start giving everyone training on the signs of stress and what they can do about it. We can all work together on this and keep an eye on each other. We’re also going to arrange a training program and let people ask for specific subjects they want training in. We’re also going to start having regular check-ins with department heads for each one of you at least once per month. Administration staff are going to arrange three training sessions per month and have already begun working on that. You’ll all receive information on how to request training before the July 18th. Now the last area I want to look at…
