AUDIO/VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Tanya Malcolm: Hi, I’m Doctor Tanya Malcolm, and I love the outdoors! My dream is to visit all seven continents to see some of their most spectacular features. Let me tell you about them.
I’d start off in Antarctica. What I want to do is visit the continent’s highest active volcano – Mount Erebus. It’s crazy to think that in the middle of the freezing polar landscape, there’s a crater full of red-hot magma. After that, I’d warm up with a visit to the Great Barrier Reef off the Northeast coast of Australia in the waters of the Coral Sea. The reef is so big you can see it from outer space and it’s home to a huge variety of creatures.
Next, I’d head for Phong Nha in Vietnam. It’s been voted one of the best caves in the world because of its many incredible features, including a river that’s over eight miles long and an underground lake.
You can tell I like contrasts so my next stop would take me to an African glacier. That’s right – there’s ice at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in tropical Tanzania, although climate change means it’s disappearing fast. See it while you can! By then, I’d be missing the water, so I’d take myself surfing in the wild waters of the Bay of Biscay. French and Spanish beaches are some of the best places to find big waves rolling in off the Atlantic Ocean.
Time to cross the pond, as they say, to North America to take in one of the most amazing sights of all – the Grand Canyon. This enormous, long valley with the Colorado River flowing along the bottom, is one mile deep and attracts millions of visitors every year. Hopefully I’ll still have a head for heights because my last stop is at Angel Falls in Venezuela. Here we can see the Churún River falling over cliffs that are nearly one three thousand feet high and making its way through the rainforest to join the Orinoco River.
What a trip! I loved every minute of it.
