Qual é a diferença entre BETWEEN

e AMONG em INGLÊS?

Tanto “between” quanto “among” podem ser traduzidos pela preposição “entre” na Língua Portuguesa. Porém, essas duas palavras são usadas de maneiras diferentes. Vamos aprender com vários exemplos traduzidos.

BETWEEN
Between indica entre duas pessoas ou duas coisas.

• There is a park between the school and the library. (Há um parque entre a escola e a biblioteca.)
• The cat is sitting between the two chairs. (O gato está sentado entre as duas cadeiras.)
• I can’t decide between pizza and pasta for dinner. (Não consigo decidir entre pizza e massa para o jantar.)
• The meeting is scheduled between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. (A reunião está agendada entre as 2:00 e as 3:00 da tarde.)
• The store is located between the bank and the supermarket. (A loja está localizada entre o banco e o supermercado.)

• The ball is rolling between the two friends. (A bola está rolando entre os dois amigos.)

AMONG
Among indica entre mais de duas coisas ou pessoas e também expressa a ideia de estar num grupo.
