AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Hugo: Well, that’s me finished for a while. I’m off on vacation next week.
Christabel: You’re so lucky – just in time for the good weather. Where are you going?
Hugo: We usually go to the beach, but this year we’re going to try something different and we’re going camping in the mountains.
Christabel: Oh, right. Why did you decide to do that?
Hugo: Well, first of all, the mountains are closer and easier to get to from here. And we want to go hiking and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Plus, it will be a lot cooler in the mountains than at the beach.
Christabel: That’s true, but there aren’t any insects at the beach! And there are lots of bugs when you’re camping. I had a big one in my tent once – it was really scary!
Hugo: I don’t mind – I’ve got some good insect repellent. What I’m worried about is if the bathrooms and showers at the campsite will be clean. I read lots of online reviews to find a campsite with good facilities.
Christabel: Even if the campsite has five stars, I think the beach is much better.
Hugo: Why’s that?
Christabel: Well, the beach is way more fun. I love swimming and tanning.
Hugo: Really? I think the beach is more boring. I hate tanning and, anyway, I always get sunburned.
Christabel: If you get hot and bored on the beach, you can cool down in the water. There are so many great water sports: surfing, sailing, bodyboarding ….
Hugo: Sure, but you need to rent the equipment and it’s always more expensive than you think it’s going to be. I guess I’m just not a beach person.
Christabel: Well, to each his own. I’ve already packed my beach bag! Only two more weeks until my vacation!
