VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Newsreader: Taylor Swift became the first performer to win the prize for album of the year four times, for her album ‘Midnights’. She received the prize from Celine Dion, who made a surprise appearance. The award is one of many she has achieved in recent years. She said she “would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life”, but that finishing a song, rehearsing, or preparing to play a show makes her equally happy. Earlier in the night, Swift took the opportunity to announce a new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
Known as music’s biggest night, the Grammys are the industry’s most significant awards. Women dominated the show in Los Angeles, with SZA, Victoria Monét, and Boygenius winning awards, and Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell giving rare performances. Miley Cyrus won the record of the year award for ‘Flowers’, which also picked up best pop vocal performance. They were the first ever Grammys for the star, a fact she noted in her performance when she changed one of the song’s lyrics to: “I just won my first Grammy!” Kylie Minogue won her second ever Grammy Award, 20 years after her first. The star won best pop dance recording for her hit ‘Padam Padam’.
