In this article-based lesson, students read about the technology of smell-o-vision. They define vocabulary related to smells and develop reading skills. The language point is word families, and there is a practice exercise on exam-style sentence transformations. The lesson concludes with a choice of speaking activities (film storyboard or discussion), and there is also an optional extension activity focusing on “smell” idioms (by Stephanie Hirschman).
