The topic of this lesson is camping and the outdoors. Students listen to a dialogue between two friends on a camping trip. The worksheet introduces some common phrasal verbs, and there is a discussion activity at the end in which students talk about the advantages and disadvantages of various travel items. AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Bill: Here we are! Just look at those mountains! This is one of my favorite places in the world - I come every summer!
Jessie: Wow! The air is so fresh. Thanks for inviting me. You know, this is my first time camping, so you’ll have to explain what to do.
Bill: OK. So, first we’re going to get all our stuff out of the car. Then we have to put the tent up.
Jessie: That sounds a bit difficult!
Bill: Don’t worry - I watched a thing on YouTube last night so I think I know what to do. We can always check the instructions if we need to sort any problems out.
Jessie: Great! Then what will we do?
Bill: I think we should go for a long hike. We can pick some wood up for the fire at the same time.
Jessie: OK. It’s getting quite hot. I’m going to take my coat off and put some sunscreen on before we go. By the way, what time are we leaving on Sunday?
Bill: Well, I don’t want to wake up too early, but we need to make sure we have time to clean the campsite up for the next people who want to use it.
Jessie: How long will that take?
Bill: Let’s see. We need to take the tent down and put everything away in the car. We also need to find a safe place to throw the trash away, and if the fire’s still going, we need to put it out.
Jessie: So, an hour maybe?
Bill: That sounds right. But let’s think about that later. The sun is shining and the mountains are calling! Can you help me carry the sleeping bags? I hope you have a pillow...
