This lesson introduces beginner learners to basic family and friends vocabulary and helps them talk about the people in their lives. Students complete tasks such as labeling a family tree, categorizing family terms, and identifying relationships from clues. They also practice listening comprehension by ordering pictures and learn to use ’s to show possession. Self-study sections give students further practice creating sentences, asking questions about family members, and completing a short transcript. (by Celia Page)

Speaker 3: This is my family. I have my mom, my dad, my sister, and my three children, Ben, Charlie and Mia. My mom is Linda and my dad is John. My sister’s name is Kim.
