AUDIO 1 (TASK 2)
DIALOGUE 1
Speaker 1: Morning, how can I help?
Speaker 2: Hi there! I want something small, but meaningful.
Speaker 1: Have you considered these hand-painted tiles? They come in different designs and show iconic city landmarks.
Speaker 2: Oh, they’re beautiful. My mom would love one of these.
Speaker 1: It’s perfect as a gift for someone who appreciates local art.
Speaker 2: I guess you’re right! Can I have two of them, please?
DIALOGUE 2
Speaker 3: Hey, can you help me? I’m looking for something for my parents.
Speaker 4: Sure! hmm, let me see... this one might be perfect for them — it’s a locally produced fig jam. It comes in a handmade jar and with a little booklet about the farm where it’s made.
Speaker 3: That sounds great, but my dad doesn’t really like sweet things. Do you have anything savory?
Speaker 4: Another good option would be this set of local spices — they're great for cooking Mediterranean dishes at home.
Speaker 3: I’ll tell you what, I’ll get the fig jam for my mom and the spices for dad, thank you.
DIALOGUE 3
Speaker 1: I was thinking of getting something for my sister. One of these scarves will do… but I’m not sure which one.
Speaker 2: If you’re looking for something unique, we have these scarves with natural colors. It’s made of organic cotton, so it’s very light and soft.
Speaker 1: That’s exactly what I was looking for! How much is it?
Speaker 2: It’s $65 — they’re all handmade by a local cooperative.
Speaker 1: Oh, that’s a bit more than I wanted to spend, to be honest. I’ll take a look around to see if I find anything a bit cheaper, thanks.
DIALOGUE 4
Speaker 3: Do you have souvenirs that aren’t too big? I don't have much space left in my bag!
Speaker 4: Most tourists go for our mini photo books — they’re great for sharing memories without taking up much space.
Speaker 3: That sounds like a good idea. What’s included in the photo book?
Speaker 4: It comes with 30 high-quality images of the city’s main landmarks, a short description for each, and a fold-out map at the end. It also has space for you to write your own notes.
Speaker 3: Oh, nice! And is it in English?
Speaker 4: Yes, it comes in six languages — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese.
Speaker 3: I’ll take it!
DIALOGUE 5
Speaker 1: Good afternoon! Welcome to our gallery.
Speaker 2: Oh, thank you. It’s a lovely place. I love these paintings. I wish I could get one, but it’s too big to carry.
Speaker 1: They are very beautiful indeed! If you prefer something more portable, there’s also a postcard set. They come in different sizes, and the prints are very detailed.
Speaker 2: Oh, perfect. I’ll take the set!
Speaker 1: Great choice. It comes with six different views of the city — two landscapes, two market scenes, and two night views. They’re ideal for framing or sending to friends.
Speaker 2: That sounds great. Is the artist local?
Speaker 1: Yes! She’s based just outside the city.
DIALOGUE 6
Speaker 3: I’d like to bring something nice for my partner.
Speaker 4: Sure, it depends on your budget — there’s the handcrafted leather wallet, or another good option would be this smaller cardholder. It’s ideal for everyday use and very durable.
Speaker 3: I’ll take a closer look at both, thanks. Hmm… the wallet looks really elegant, but it might be too much for my partner, he doesn’t carry many things.
Speaker 4: In that case, have you considered this slim design? It’s perfect as a practical and stylish gift.
Speaker 3: That sounds great. Do you have it in other colors?
Speaker 4: It comes in black, brown, and a deep navy blue — the navy blue’s quite popular.
Speaker 3: I like the color, but I’m not sure… I think I’ll take some time to think about it and maybe come back later.
AUDIO 2 (TASK 3)
Tourist: Hi! I’d love to get something special for my sister. She loves anything handmade.
Store assistant: Of course! If you’re looking for something special, we have these hand-painted ceramic bowls. It’s made of traditional clay from the north of Portugal, and each one is slightly different.
Tourist: Oh, they’re beautiful! Are there other options too?
Store assistant: Yes, there’s also these silk scarves designed by local artists. Each pattern is inspired by different parts of the city. They come in different shades — we’ve got pastels, bold prints, and even some limited-edition ones.
Tourist: I see… and what do people usually buy from here?
Store assistant: Most tourists go for the illustrated city journals. It’s ideal for travelers as a travel diary.
Tourist: I like the idea of the bowl. Is it gift-ready?
Store assistant: Absolutely. It’s perfect as a decorative piece, and it comes with a small card explaining the history of the design.
Tourist: That’s nice. How much is it?
Store assistant: Well, it depends on your budget – there’s the smaller version for €12, or the full-size bowl for €25.
Tourist: Hmmm, I might go with the bigger one. Thanks.
