No último dia 17 de maio de 2023, foi realizada no Centro de Capacitação DERA a Orientação Técnica "ENGLISH Learning And Teaching For All: O Currículo de Língua Inglesa". A formação, destinada a professores de Língua Inglesa dos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental e do Ensino Médio, das escolas estaduais da região de Assis, teve por objetivos:

• orientar os Professores de Língua Inglesa para o desenvolvimento de atividades que contemplem os eixos organizadores do componente, conforme proposto pela Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) e, consequentemente, pelo Currículo Paulista, garantindo a articulação das práticas linguísticas com a oralidade, leitura, escrita e dimensão intercultural;
• fortalecer os docentes por meio de sessão de estudos sobre os fundamentos do Currículo de Língua Inglesa, com foco na estrutura de uma boa aula, de modo a possibilitar um trabalho pedagógico que garanta aos estudantes da Educação Básica uma postura protagonista na aprendizagem;
• propor uma discussão sobre como os recursos tecnológicos podem impactar na prática pedagógica, proporcionando uma experiência de aprendizagem mais eficaz e engajadora para os alunos, considerando o contexto de multiletramentos, de modo a garantir o protagonismo juvenil e a reflexão docente acerca do conceito de Educação 5.0;
• discorrer sobre estratégias de ensino e de aprendizagem relacionadas à Educação Especial em uma perspectiva inclusiva, bem como sua articulação com a Língua Inglesa e com os demais componentes curriculares nos Ensinos Fundamental e Médio.

This lesson focuses on the theme of winter. Students start by thinking about and responding to what winter means to them. They then identify and practice winter-related vocabulary through a variety of student-centered, engaging tasks. Students then listen to a podcast about unusual winter activities and complete a variety of pre, during and post-tasks. They finish by creating their own snowflake. There is then a choice of optional extension games to review vocabulary from the lesson or develop speaking skills (by V. Aitken).

Speaker: Good afternoon, everyone, welcome to our adventure podcast. With winter almost here, what winter activities do you like doing? Are there any activities you have heard about and would like to try? Well, today we have some slightly unusual winter activities to tell you about.
So, let’s start with polar bear swimming in Korea. Don’t worry, you don’t actually swim with the bears. In January, locals jump into the freezing cold water. They then swim two hundred and sixty feet to the finish line. They do it to welcome good health in the new year.
Do you like go-karting? I know I do, but what about ice-karting? In Finland, instead of driving around a normal track, you can race around on a frozen lake. The karts have special wheels to stop you from sliding too much. Before you start racing, you will be provided with some driving and safety tips, and you must wear a helmet.
What about trying the official sport of Alaska? Dog sledding or also known as mushing. A big team of beautiful husky dogs pull you along on a sled. The rides can be fast or slow depending on the experience you want.
If you like the snow, you will enjoy the next activity. In Canada, you can try snow tubing. You go down the slopes in a big tube. It is very easy to do and a lot of fun. You can also connect a few tubes so you can go down the slopes with other people.
The last one is for you if you are creative. It is called snow tagging, an activity where you create big pictures or write messages in the snow. You use your feet to draw the design and then stand back and admire your skills. It is even better if you can look down on your design from a higher place.

In this lesson, students develop their conversational skills to talk about everyday objects in the context of losing items. Students start by matching common everyday items, identifying the use of indefinite articles with those items and noticing the different sounds for plural endings. They then complete a variety of communicative activities to practice and personalize the language. Students then listen to two different audios about lost belongings to hear the language in context and complete comprehension tasks. They finish with a final productive task to consolidate all the language from the lesson and there is an optional describing game to review the vocabulary (by Victoria Aitken).

It’s the most musical time of the year again. Eurovision took over Liverpool last week, and in this worksheet, students will learn all about it. First, they will watch a short video on how making a grand entrance is key for a Eurovision act. They will then read an article with interesting information about the contest and do some comprehension tasks on it. They will then listen to a news report about the results of this year’s competition. Finally, they will think of an act to represent their country in next year’s Eurovision! (by Edward Alden)

Speaker: On May 13th, 2023, millions of people around the world watched the Eurovision finals on TV. Others saw the 26 acts in the final live from Liverpool's MS Arena in Liverpool. The theme this year was United by Music.
Liverpool hosted Eurovision for Ukraine and did a great job! There was a huge area called the Eurovision Village, where fans could watch the acts on big screens, as well as other live singers and DJs.
In the Arena, the evening started with last year’s winners, Kalush Orchestra. They sang their hit Stefania with many special guests, including Princess Kate, who played part of the song on a piano from Windsor Castle.
The presenters were also a big part of the show. There were four: comedian Graham Norton, actress Hannah Waddingham, from the famous TV series Ted Lasso, rock star Julia Sanina, and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.
After all the amazing acts performed, there were performances from past Eurovision artists. Then the votes were counted, and the big winner was … Sweden! With Tattoo, Loreen became the first woman to win Eurovision twice - she also won in 2012. The second place was Finnish act Käärijä, the public favorite, with Cha Cha Cha.
Eurovision 2023 was a big success, and now everyone is counting the days for the next event, in Sweden, when Europe will be once again united by music!

Narrator: Let’s open up to... a powerful, majestic start! At the Eurovision Song Contest, it is important that your song sticks with the audience.
Presenter: We suggest that you listen and learn!
Presenter: Step 1: Get everyone’s attention. A powerful, majestic start: maybe a battle horn of some kind.
Narrator: With a spectacular start, you are able to grab the attention of the audience from the very beginning.

Narrator: To finish this segment, we start with the beginning, and in this case, the start of the entire show: the opening act! For instance, the acrobats from Cirque de Soleil in 2009, and “We Write the Story”, by Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson and Avicii, performed by a large choir in Malmö. Now that is the true essence of a powerful, majestic start!

Afinal de contas, como pode ser um bom planejamento estratégico escolar? Dentro desse tema, qual é o papel da gestão escolar?
Os problemas de gestão no ambiente escolar impactam na qualidade da aula e no desempenho de estudantes. A comunicação é um fator imprescindível em todos os setores.
Se você quer entender mais sobre isso, acompanhe a leitura e confira o conceito, a importância e como elaborar um planejamento estratégico escolar.

O que é um planejamento estratégico escolar?
Um planejamento estratégico escolar é um processo que visa definir objetivos, metas e ações para uma escola alcançar seu propósito e visão a longo prazo.
O papel da gestão escolar ao coordenar esse processo é fundamental para garantir que a visão da escola seja bem comunicada e compreendida por todas as pessoas envolvidas.
A gestão escolar é responsável por liderar e facilitar, com a comunidade escolar, o processo de planejamento estratégico, incluindo a identificação dos objetivos e metas da escola.
Os benefícios para docentes de Língua Inglesa são muitos. Em primeiro lugar, um planejamento estratégico bem definido ajuda a alinhar as expectativas do grupo de professores.
Um planejamento estratégico também pode ajudar a gestão escolar a identificar as necessidades de formação continuada de docentes de Língua Inglesa.

Qual é a importância desse planejamento para a escola?
O objetivo do planejamento estratégico escolar vai além da burocracia. Ele tem a função de orientar estudantes, docentes, colaboradores e colaboradoras.
Para otimizar a elaboração do documento, algumas tarefas são necessárias, como:

• revisar os planejamentos dos anos anteriores;
• pensar em um projeto em constante desenvolvimento;
• incentivar o diálogo.

O processo também busca aproximar a escola da comunidade em que se insere, por exemplo, por meio da participação das famílias de alunos.
Um bom planejamento estratégico escolar permite ainda que a instituição esteja sempre atualizada e preparada para enfrentar os desafios do mercado educacional. Alguns exemplos são:

• demanda por qualidade de ensino e infraestrutura;
• diversidade cultural e inclusão;
• mudanças na legislação educacional;
• possíveis problemas financeiros.

Partindo desse princípio, torna-se relevante revisar constantemente seus objetivos, estratégias e ações, assim a escola consegue identificar oportunidades de inovação.
É possível ter uma análise crítica do que já foi realizado, avaliando a efetividade das ações realizadas e identificando possíveis falhas e pontos de melhoria.
Além disso, a participação de diversos perfis profissionais na elaboração e execução das estratégias e ações definidas, promovendo uma cultura colaborativa, ajuda no planejamento de aula.

Como elaborar um planejamento estratégico escolar?
O planejamento estratégico escolar, é formado por diversos elementos e etapas que demonstram uma abordagem pedagógica.
Embora seja preciso seguir o plano, é comum fazer ajustes para lidar com imprevistos. Veja, a seguir, algumas orientações para elaborá-lo de forma eficaz.

1. Faça uma análise dos dados da escola
A análise de dados é uma etapa crucial no processo de elaboração de um planejamento estratégico escolar, geralmente feito pela gestão escolar. Assim, é possível identificar pontos fortes e desafios da instituição. A análise de dados precisa contemplar os contextos específicos de cada escola.
O uso de dados na educação permite conhecer a realidade do ensino e ajuda a identificar possíveis oportunidades e ameaças que impactam na execução do planejamento.
Pode-se coletar informações relevantes sobre diversos aspectos da instituição, tais como:

• perfis de alunos;
• desempenho escolar;
• infraestrutura;
• perfil da gestão.

Com base nessas informações, fica mais fácil traçar um diagnóstico preciso da escola, identificando os possíveis pontos de melhoria.

2. Identifique possíveis problemas
Existem diversas estratégias que podem ser utilizadas para identificar possíveis desafios no ambiente escolar, até mesmo para evitar a evasão escolar.
Ouvir a comunidade escolar pode ser uma excelente maneira de coletar informações. Observar diretamente o ambiente escolar pode também fornecer informações importantes sobre o que está ocorrendo.
Além disso, os responsáveis podem fornecer informações valiosas sobre os problemas que reparam na escola, bem como sugestões para aperfeiçoamentos.

3. Delegue responsabilidades
Delegar responsabilidades é uma etapa fundamental no processo de elaboração de um planejamento estratégico escolar, pois permite que a equipe trabalhe colaborativamente.
Isso ajuda a distribuir a carga de trabalho, aumentar a motivação e o engajamento da equipe e promover um senso de propriedade e responsabilidade.
O ideal é identificar as habilidades e competências de cada membro da equipe, pois assim a delegação de responsabilidades pode ser mais efetiva.
Com isso, defina as tarefas e responsabilidades de cada pessoa. Tudo deve ser explicado de maneira clara e objetiva, a fim de evitar conflitos e mal-entendidos.

Em suma, o planejamento estratégico escolar vai muito além de um processo burocrático, é uma oportunidade de integrar gestão escolar, docentes, alunas, alunos, mães, pais e responsáveis. Isso favorece uma educação de qualidade.
