In this lesson, students develop their conversational skills by talking about reading habits. The students start by responding to three quotes before identifying different reading materials. They then complete a set of sentence prompts to personalize the topic and practice asking questions. The students then listen to a short interview about reading habits and complete pre, during and post-activities before focusing on key language in the text and practicing it in a variety of student-centered tasks. Riley: Last month I read The Shining by Stephen King. It was terrifying but I couldn’t put it down.
Every morning when I have my cup of tea. I probably shouldn’t as I often feel depressed after reading what is happening in the world.
I was a big bookworm when I was a kid and a big fan of Paddington Bear. I read all the stories and loved all the adventures he went on. I also read Beano comics. I would get so excited when the new copy came out each month.
I’m really into fiction, mostly crime novels and thrillers as they are exciting and keep me guessing throughout the whole story.
Hmm... I read all kinds of content. News articles, websites, blogs and of course people’s posts.
I read a human-interest article about a man who walked all around England to raise money for charity. His story was fascinating. I also read an article about The Philippines. It sounds like an amazing place to visit and explore.
