AUDIO TRANSCRIPT
Fern: Now, where’s the coffee truck? Hang on, is that Steve? I think it is. Steve! Steve!
Steve: Wow, Fern, what a great surprise! I didn’t know that you were coming to the festival! Ellen and I come every year. Are you having a good time?
Fern: Yeah, the music is great. It’s too bad about the weather though.
Steve: Yeah, I know what you mean. That’s why we got a camper van.
Fern: Is this yours? The colors are amazing. Did you choose them?
Steve: Yeah! Isn’t she beautiful? We call her Ronnie. We wanted her to be easily recognizable so we could find her, even in the dark. Let me show you around.
Fern: Yes, please.
Steve: So, we have a little kitchen with a tiny fridge and stove. And the table is removable, so we only get it out when we want to eat.
Fern: That’s so cute! And where do you sleep?
Steve: The roof is adjustable. It pops up to make a sleeping area. It’s quite comfy up there.
Fern: It’s all so clever! What a great design!
Steve: Thanks! I’m pretty proud of it, actually. We did it ourselves. The basic van is adaptable, so you can choose the features and layout that you want.
Fern: I guess it was expensive.
Steve: Yeah, but we’ve always wanted one. We had to save up for a couple of years. It’s true that some classic models of the VW Transporter are very collectible, which pushes the price up. But Ronnie was more affordable than you’d think.
Fern: And I guess you’re saving money on your vacations.
Steve: Exactly.
Fern: I wish I had a camper van!
