In this lesson, students develop their conversational skills by discussing likes and dislikes in the context of everyday activities. To introduce the topic, the students decide if the sentences are true or false for them. They then learn a set of everyday activities before practicing the language in a variety of student-centered activities and games. The students then develop their listening skills by hearing someone talking about what they like and don’t like and then answering comprehension questions. From the conversation, they discover different ways to express likes and dislikes and focus on the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the new phrases. They learn another set of activities before consolidating and personalizing all the language in two communicative activities. There is a final speaking game to review the lesson.
