Students will learn level-appropriate vocabulary to talk about different social topics. They will also watch a video from UNICEF about World Children’s Day and discover what is done on this day around the world. Students will also have the chance to debate some of the themes they read about and have an opportunity to write a profile on a teenage activist they find interesting (by Richard Moon).

Millie: We need more blue. Everybody check in. Tech team? Wardrobe? LEGO team? Paint team? Paint team?
Millie: Now we need to involve some friends. Hi, Liam? It’s Millie.
Liam: Now listen. I have a particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Millie: OMG! You’re doing Taken*.
Liam: No! Baking!
Millie: Oh!
Millie: Lilly! It’s me, Millie!
Lilly: Millie! It’s Lilly!
Millie: Hi. Hi. Okay, Code Blue.
Lilly: Don’t worry. Everything is under control.
Millie: Dua!
Dua: Millie, babe. What’s up?
Millie: I know you’re busy, but... um... Code Blue, you need to go Blue! Go blue!
Dua: “I see in blue, I see in blue. Oh, and you see everything in blue.” Let’s run that one more time. Let’s try it this way.
Millie: I repeat, this is your Code Blue.
Orlando: Don’t worry Millie. I’m on it.
Millie: Orlando. You’re the best.
Millie: We need everyone to go blue! Camera team. Let’s do this!
Millie: This World Children’s Day UNICEF is calling on kids and adults everywhere to go blue in support of children’s rights. By going blue and signing our petition, you’re telling the world that you believe in a brighter future for kids and helping UNICEF make that future a reality. Go blue this world children’s day!
Children: Go blue!
Millie: Hi!
Dua: Hey! It’s Blua Lipa.
