On February 24, 2022, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, a democratic country in Eastern Europe. This breaking news lesson is based on an article that looks at the background to the war, as well as video interviews with refugees fleeing the conflict. The worksheet focuses on vocabulary development, reading/listening comprehension, and speaking.
