AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

Sarah: Hey, Jake! Do you have a moment, or are you pressed for time?
Jake: No, it’s fine. I’ve got some breathing room before my next meeting. What’s up?
Sarah: I wanted to ask how you’re managing with the upcoming deadline for the marketing project. It feels like we’re racing against the clock!
Jake: Oh, tell me about it. Time has been slipping through my fingers lately. I’ve had so many overlapping tasks that I feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up.
Sarah: I get that. It’s been a whirlwind on my end, too. I’m trying to block out time in my calendar, but things keep popping up last minute.
Jake: Same here. It’s hard to stick to a schedule when there are so many moving parts. I’ve been trying to prioritise, but it feels like everything is top priority these days.
Sarah: Yeah, sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day. But hey, at least we’re making progress. I mean, we’re still on track to meet the deadline, right?
Jake: Just about. I’ve had to burn the midnight oil a couple of times this week to catch up.
Sarah: Oh no, that sounds exhausting. You don’t want to end up running yourself into the ground.
Jake: I know, but I can’t afford to let things pile up. Otherwise, it’ll snowball, and I’ll really be in trouble.
Sarah: True. Have you thought about delegating some of your tasks? It might help free up some time for the bigger stuff.
Jake: I’ve tried, but it’s tricky. Some of the work is so time-sensitive that I feel like I need to handle it myself.
Sarah: Hmm, I get that. But don’t forget about the long game. If you’re always firefighting, you won’t have time to focus on strategy.
Jake: Good point. Maybe I’ll revisit my to-do list and see if I can offload a few things.
Sarah: That’s the spirit. You know what they say—work smarter, not harder.
Jake: You’re right. Speaking of which, I should probably get back to it. Thanks for the chat, though. It’s always good to take a step back and to get some perspective.
Sarah: Anytime. Just don’t forget to take breaks—it’s not worth working yourself to the bone.
Jake: I hear you. See you later, Sarah!
Sarah: See you, Jake. Good luck with the project!
